Chicago: H.H. Hardesty & Co, 1875. First Edition. Cloth. Very good. Historical Atlas of the World, focusing on Wood County Ohio, from 1875.. Largo folio (14.5" x 20"). Burgundy cloth, title in gilt on spine and front cover. Some wear at edges, endpapers a bit worn, stain to last 5 pages and rear endpaper. Some separation at front hinge, text block solid. Comprised of 43 large color maps, many foldout, double-page maps, a "Special Map" of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan. Numerous inserts with maps and etchings from Wood County Ohio. Includes a historical description of the county in the preface. This edition is similar to other copies, which focus on Henry County, Lucas County and Fulton County Ohio. A scarce work.

Jones, Charles H. Historical Atlas of the World Illustrated. Chicago: Higgins Bros. & Co., 1876. Large folio, embossed cloth with what appears to be leatherette spine and tips, unpaginated, illustrated with color maps. Edgewear to bing, but binding remains sound, third panel of Nebraska map detached, but third panel included, loose and with some margin damage, paper a little fragile, tears and chips in margins, normal aging. Overall about very good. Unusual and not that common atlas that contains over 60 plates of maps, about a dozen are double page maps of the United States, California, Texas, Asia, and Europe Africa are included. There is also a three-panel map of Nebraska in the front of the atlas. The third panel of that map is detached, but included. It appears map number 46 is misnumbered, and should be 36. Nevertheless, it appears that all maps are present. A nice attractive atlas in pretty good shape. Extra postage required.

Includes a great map of Marion County, Ohio and a Rail Road Map.
