London: A. W. Bennett. Good with no dust jacket. [1861]. Hardcover. Boards rubbed and faded. Corners of boards soft, with 3/8" chips to cloth. Spine heavily rubbed and worn with loss of cloth at head and tail and to front joint. Binding shaken with some gatherings loosened, almost detached. Frontispiece with foxing and small stain. Some spots of foxing throughout. ; No date [1861]. vi, [2], 278 pages + 16 plates (including frontispiece ) + [2], 24 pages advertisements. Contemporary blind-stamped cloth boards with gilt lettering and small gilt device on spine. Spine title: "Peter Jones / and the / Ojebway / Indians / [device] / A. W. Bennett". Pale yellow endpapers. Page dimensions: 190 x 124mm (7 1/2" x 4 7/8"). [Bibliographical reference: Sabin 36590 - "Reissued without a date."] Provenance: near contemporary owner's signature: "William Telford / Clifton May th4 1866". .
