Publisher's green cloth with gilt motif to upper board and gilt lettering to spine. With the illustrated dust-jacket. Fly-leaf cancelled. Toning to rear endpaper, light toning to edges of textblock, some very light marking to cloth. Dust-jacket sunned, with wear to edges, open tear at spine 3cm, archival tape applied to entire length of jacket upper joint. Very good. With 20 tipped in colour plates by Dulac, all with captioned tissue guards, and green border decoration. Publisher's red buckram, with gilt titles and decoration to spine and upper. Omar Khayyam was an astronomer and a poet in Persia, born at Naishapur in Khorassan in the middle of the eleventh century.
