Black border to front board, decorated with black leaf desins within smaller borders. In the center a 3" x 6" elaborate gilt design with book title at bottom amidst a riot of jungle growth, framed by two tall tropical trees, with a delicate, long-tailed, multi-feathered Bird of Paradise, aloft, hovering in the center of the frame. Many lovely illustrations. Fold-out multi-colored map opposite first page of the story (p.13). Edges of boards beveled. Front board partially detached, rear starting.
