Fold-out map (22.5 in. x 19.25 in.) has 4 in. closed tear at hinge and several small closed tears to seams at map's edges. Alexander Knox was born in 1802 at Eden Hill House, Edentrillick, Co. Down. He studied medicine in Edinburgh, and graduated in 1831. He was assistant surgeon in the Royal Navy before practicing in Dromore, Co. Down. He moved down to Ballycastle, Co.
