Description:
New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1930. First US Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, blue cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Exterior shows some scuffing and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. The reason for the low condition grade is because both the front and rear hinges are cracked, though the front page is only partially opened. Pages are toned due to age and there are some smudge marks and scattered foxing spots. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, and the only handwriting found is something that was written in pencil in the upper outside corner of the rear end page, and then later erased. This is the first US edition from 1930, following the London edition published through John Murray in 1929.
