Fascinating book, written by the famed columnist after a trip to the Soviet Union, including his memories of an extended talk with Nikita Khruschev. Really an interesting historical document reflecting another time when the Russians had launched their sputniks and when American diplomacy aimed to stop what appeared to be their imminent take-over of the world. Lippmann was a voice of reason, proven by subsequent events to have been pretty close to the mark. He ends with "...the less we plunge ourselves into hysterics, the more likely we are to take good care of our affairs." 56 pages.. 1st Edition. Hard Cover.
