The cover illustration of a fox in "flight" is by Robert W. Hines, aka Bob Hines, " one of the great wildlife artists and illustrators of the 20th century . ... He was a nationally recognized wildlife artist whose work became a crucial factor in a wave of interest in nature and conservation. Like Roger Tory Peterson, Hines helped educate a public eager to see, understand, and protect the environment - Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History." The Peterson Institute hosted an exhibition of Hines's work in 2014, but this is an earlier piece than any shown in their exhibit. With a map.
