[San Francisco?]: Self-published, 1973. First Edition. Octavo (5 3/8 x 8 1/2 inches / 135 x 215 mm), [16] unnumbered leaves, in side-stapled yellow wrappers. Covers moderately soiled, staples rusted. A Very Good copy.SIGNED by Jack Micheline on the final page and dated 1974. A long poem on the U.S. and the Soviet Union, dedicated to the poet Andre Vosnesensky (rendered as Voznesensky in the poem itself) and "In memory of Jack Kerouac and the inspired and living presence of Harold Goldfinger." Micheline (1929-1998) was closely associated with the Beat poets of San Francisco.
As almost always the case in this poem, three lines, "Hitler is here, Hitler is here, Hitler is here," are crossed out on the penultimate page. Laid in is a card 11 inches (28 cm) long and folded in half, giving Micheline's biography, a list of publications and readings, and information on how to book his lectures ("$150 for the day").
