Description:
Papeete, Tahiti: Christian Gleizal/Les Editions du Pacifique, 1979. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8"x 10. pp: 120. The author set out to describe, in words and illustrations, the form of Tahitian dance as it is practiced in modern times. To that end, the book contains hundreds of photographs, mostly in colour, showing the form of dance on Tahiti. Each gesture of a dance is illustrated and the meaning is discussed. If the musical accompanying the dance has words, they are included in Tahitian. The book includes a selected bibliography. This is a near fine copy in dust jacket, which is now protected with a Brodart cover.
