"Wohnbauten von Heute" (Modern Housing) was written by Klaus Müller-Rehm (1907-1999), a renown German architect responsible for the development of modern housing construction in Berlin after the end of the Second World War. Numerous designs for small houses and economical apartment buildings during the post-war period are evidence of his effective use of valuable building materials. As a nine-year-old boy, Klaus Müller-Rehm was so impressed by Hans Poelzig's conversion of the theatre Großes Schauspielhaus that he determined to become an architect.
