Francois Rabelais (c.1494-1553) was a Franciscan and Benedictine monk who later became an eminent physician and humanist. Text in French. 812 p. Quarto. In a three-quarter brown morocco over brown cloth binding, with five raised bands, gilt titles, and marbled endpapers. The original wrappers are bound in. Light rubbing to the extremities; otherwise very good.
