Full hard-grain Morocco leather over bevel-edge boards; front and rear covers with central gilt-stamped title with black-stamped elaborate floral spandrels in triple ruled black frame; spine with gilt-stamped title and blind-stamped false raised bands and quatrefoil panels; all edges gilt; pale yellow end papers. Covers and spine are clean, lightly scuffed; spine ends chipped with 1/2 inch leather missing at head; some cracking of leather at spine/front cover joint, but all still firm and tight; rubbing wear at fore corners, boards just exposed; tightly bound; light soiling on end papers; some foxing on prelims; clean interior with occasional foxing. 32 steel engravings. All engravings present, some tissue guards missing. Large 8vo, 310 pp.

Purple designs on white linen end papers. Leather is lightly rubbed along the edges and joints. Light foxing to the tissue protecting the engravings. 1873 gift inscription written on the front blank end sheet. Engravings include Stone Mountain Georgia (Rock Mountain); Cascade of Tuccoa; Lovers Leap, Chattahoochee River, Ga; Mount Vernon; Cincinnati; Cataract of Tallulah; Niagara Falls, and many more.
