Portraits and engravings; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 153 pages; Original green cloth with titles in gilt to the spine. Binding sound with intact original endpages. Lancaster Pa.: Printed for the Company By the Inquirer. Very Good+. 1879. First Edition. Hardcover. Portraits and engravings; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 153 pages; [Provenance of Dr William Wolf, mid-20th century president of the Union Fire Co. ] 1879 Union Fire Company; printed by the Inquirer. Original green cloth with titles brightly in gilt to the spine. Snugly bound with and very neat with just mild crimping to cloth at spine ends. Illustrated with portraits and engravings of early apparatus. There are a large number of related news clippings that we have placed in mylar envelope. These clippings were clipped and dated by William Wolf who served in the capacity as president of the Fire Co in the mid 20th century. One clipping is tipped in on the front pastedown. A moderate paper burn to the facing leaves of the title page and frontis where one of the clippings was placed. Otherwise very solid and neat; the best condition copy we have handled. VG+ or better .
