Colour illustrations at each chapter beginning. 88 pages.Stephen Scobie was born on New Year's Eve, 1943 in Carnoustie, Scotland. He began publishing poetry in the mid-sixties. He won the Governor General's Award for poetry in 1980 with McAlmon's Chinese Opera. Scobie taught at the University of Victoria, and some of his critical essays can be found in Signature, Event, Cantext, which is influenced by the theoretical writings of Jacques Derrida.
