London: Ackermann, 1824. Two volumes in one, duodecimo, with 26 hand-coloured engraved plates; a very good copy, untrimmed, well bound in modern half calf. A very good copy of this charming illustrated book; although separately published it also formed part of the series "The World in Miniature", published by Ackermann between 1821 and 1825, which ran to 43 volumes and covered most areas of the world, filling a demand for information on exotic places. The delightful coloured plates here include six studies of Australian aborigines, some of which are recognisable as coming from either the Baudin or the Freycinet voyage publications. .
