From Jamestown and Plymouth Rock through WWII (though not the end of the war as Benet died in 1943). From the text: "We have tried to show, in this little book, something about the sort of people we are--something about the United States, what it believes in, how it grew, what way of life it follows. We have not told all our history, but we have not glossed the record. We have put down faults as well as merits..." #00130.
