Boston: Popular Science News Co, 1889. Hardcover. Very Good. Editors: Austin P. Nichols and W.J. Rolfe. viii, 190 p.: illustrations; 31 cm. Contemporary half polished calf with five spine compartments between raised bands. Gilt-tooled title in second compartment and volume number and year in fourth compartment. Marbled paper over boards. First 8 pages printed on pink paper. Includes index, prospectus for 1890, and publisher's advertisements for related periodicals. Inscription on front free endpaper: "W.M. Stine 5-15-92." "0728" stamped at lower edge of title page. "Storage" stamped in red on fixed endpapers. Former owner Wilbur Morris Stine (1863-1934) was the author of "Experimental Proof of the Existence of the Ether" in the first issue in the volume. He received from Dickinson College his Master of Science degree in 1886 and his Doctor of Science degree in 1893, and from Ohio University a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1893.
