B T Batsford, London, 1902. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 10 pages of text, fifty plates (complete). A shabbily elegant copy. The boards of this large book are worn, scuffed and marked. The gilt titling is friendly. The boards are steady, sound, hale. The contents are in most pleasing condition. They are fresh, tight, creamy, refined, grandly presented, clean, clear, most gratifying. Batsford, 1902. Hardcover. Fair/good. Elephant folio. 50 full page plates. Next to foxing or soiling of any kind. The red boards are rubbed and worn at the corners. But the spine is robust apart from a creased tear at the top back edge of the head, along with oher modest wear to head and foot. The main defect is the partial separation of the bulk of the plates from the binding. Up to plate 28, they are actually loose. But no nicks, just a little creasing to the spine dge of the first of them. Gilt titling on front board is bright; less so but very legible in spine. Photos available on request.
