Mainly very clean very tight copies with unmarked maroon boards and rubbing to corners and spine ends. Two pages almost loose and one page loose. Dusty page edges. One blank page very dusty. A few marks throughout. Bump to rear fore-edge of Vol 2. 5 x 576pp. Very thorough account of London towards the end of the 19th century. Undated ca 1880. A heavy set.. Hard Cover. Good. 10.5 x 8 inches.

Cassell, Petter & Galpin Book. Good-. Hardcover. This is a very heavy set (c.8.5kg), will require extra shipping charge within UK, and will not ship outside UK. Six volumes, brown bevelled boards, gilt title and illustration to cover with coat of arms in silver and red. To varying degrees all have wear and rubbing to covers, all with some marks, backstrips a little sunned with wear to extremities; pages a little tanned. v1 binding a little slack, v4 has a slight crack to top of front hinge, else all still firmly bound, frontispiece to v6 loose, other volumes' are missing although v2 apparently had none. Specific faults: v1 pp135-144 loose, backstrip splitting to back hinge; v2 pp349/50 loose; v4 short tear to head of backstrip; v5 some small splits to backstrip ends; v6 frontispiece is loose, more heavily worn than other volumes, 6cm split to top of backstrip. vols.1 & 2 by Thornbury, 4-6 by Walford. No publication date given but between 1873 and 1893..
