The title to the first work continues ..."Shewing their power and influence on the affairs of mankind, with several extracts and original pices from the writings of the best authors. The whole designed to prevent infidelity, shew the states of separate spirits, and Evince the certainty of the World to Come..... A new and improved edition." The first work is not dated but the second work is dated 1823, but both works were printed by J. Gleave, the second work also published by Gleave. It would appear that these two works were designed to be bound together. The directions to the Binder lists 12 plates, but only 11 are bound here - there is no evidence of a 12th ever having been bound in, with no associated browning to neighbouring pages at the point it should have been bound in.
