No date, circa 1920, very good + black cloth hardcover (no dust jacket with blindstamp decoration to cover and spine and gilt letter to spine) shows mild soil and shelf wear to covers including couple of rub spots to rear cover, along with some other light trace wear including some stiffness and waviness to pages. 561 pages with frontispiece. This remains a pleasing copy of this installment in the works of Washington Irving that includes the Life of Irving by Stoddard.

Cover heavily rubbed and worn with age, as expected. Spine's title stamp stained, tear running down bottom 3/4 of stamp but still readable, albeit faintly. Spine cracked, all pages intact. Heavy foxing to pages. Miscellaneous scribbles on front and rear endpapers. Text clean with no underlining. Overall fair copy of an 1830s title by one of the 19th century's most lauded authors.

Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Spine detached from textblock. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Visible wear marks to boards.
