MP3 Audio CD. The Alhambra: A Series Of Tales And Sketches Of The Moors And Spaniards THE JOURNEY In the spring of 1829, the author of this work, whom curiosity had brought into Spain, made a rambling expedition from Seville to Granada in company with a friend, a member of the Russian Embassy at Madrid. Accident had thrown us together from distant regions of the globe and a similarity of taste led us to wander together among the romantic mountains of Andalusia. Description:
MP3 Audio CD. Washington Irving?s The Alhambra is a collection of essays, verbal sketches, and tales. While taking down some content of the book, Irving stayed at the Alhambra palace where he was inspired in doing so. Irving stayed during the spring and summer at the ancient Moorish palace in Granada, Spain, in which he described as ?one of the most remarkable, romantic, and delicious spots in the world.? The Alhambra contains Spanish and Moorish history and folk lore as the author?s personal experience with the locality. He added, defining it as ?a most picturesque and beautiful city, situated in one of the loveliest landscapes that I have ever seen.? He was amazed and filled with awe when he saw how wonderful and astonishing the whole palace was. He could not believe that this kind of attractions are not illusory. He was sure that not only him had this great experience. He immediately asked permission for the access and ingress of the Alhambra Palace from the former governor of such historical… Read More
