A satirical fantasy about the archangel Michael visiting the O'Callaghan's farm warning them about a 2nd flood and it is up to the O'Callaghans nd Mr White to build an Ark. Very good book with some fading all round on edges of cloth cover, with a few small bumps. Owner stamp, added 3 times on inside in purple ink and small book dealer sticker. Very good dw with some minor chipping and edgewear, not in protective archival protection. Dw unclipped (8s 6d). VG book in dw; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 222 pages .

The front flap corner has been clipped but the publisher has imprinted the price of '15s net' beside the clipped corner. A very attractive copy, certainly much nicer than most - the jacket is prone to soiling and this example is virtually fine and unsoiled. ¶ The physical and spiritual adventures of an eccentric English writer, who is visited by an archangel at his Irish home.

Minor foxing; very good in dust jacket. Signed by White on the title page and humorously inscribed on the front free endpaper, “Dearest John - this is the only good book I have ever written and so I cant [sic] persuade anybody to read it. Please, please be kind to me and like it.”

This is the dedication copy; under the printed dedication “For David Garnett,” White has inscribed “from Mr. White.” A very good copy in dust jacket, with Garnett’s bookplate. White has made a correction at the illustration on page 113 and marked two small textual corrections at page 218. Garnett was an important English literary figure in the 20th century, a member of the Bloomsbury Group, noted for his close friendship and correspondence with White.
