THIS LP IS INSCRIBED AND SIGNED ALONG THE BACK EDGE OF SLEEVE "To Mike from Little Joe Blue". Features music recorded live at the San Francisco Blues Festival in 1978 and 1979. Side one is all BIG MAMA THORNTON, in one of her last recorded live performances, singing FO' DAY BLUES / BALL AND CHAIN / and YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO. Side two features San Francisco's own blueswoman Sugar Pie Desanto, the Zydeco group Sam Brothers Five, and bluesman Little Joe Blue. All performances feature excellent accompanying musicians. Released in 1981 by Solid Smoke Records, SS-8011. .

San Francisco: CETA Arts. 1979. Silkscreen. 22 x 17 inches. The Seventh Annual San Francisco Blues Festival featured, amongst others, Big Mam Thornton, Robert Cray, Jimmy Rogers and a band called Double Trouble featuring Lou Ann Barton and a guitarist name Stevie Ray Vaughan in one of the first important out-of-state gigs. This may have been their first West Coast appearance. A classic Blues Image on this rare silkscreened poster. Few marginal tears and red spots in the image.
