Compass was published by conscientious objectors during World War II. This issue includes articles on conscientious objectors working on land reclamation projects, hookworm control, etc.; a Mennonite perspective on pacifism, a four-page article by Crane Rosenbaum about Japanese internment titled "Americans in concentration camps," protesting the violation of the internees' rights, and more. A folded map of Civilian Public Service Camps is laid in.
