West Campton, NH: Compass, 1943. Magazine. 59p., staplebound magazine, 8.5x11 inches, address label on rear cover. Spine darkened, with oxidation to staples. "C.O. publication" penciled in corner. Compass was published by conscientious objectors during World War II. This issue includes articles on conscientious objectors working on land reclamation projects, hookworm control, etc.; a Mennonite perspective on pacifism, a four-page article by Crane Rosenbaum about Japanese internment titled "Americans in concentration camps," protesting the violation of the internees' rights, and more. A folded map of Civilian Public Service Camps is laid in.
