Dodgson was a frequent corespondent with children, including Evelyn Hatch. The jacket's spine shows some toning and the book shows scattered foxing within. The book is richly illustrated and includes facsimile illustrations of letters from Carroll to some of his young friends. Per Wikipedia: Evelyn Hatch was an English child friend of the adult Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by his pen name of Lewis Carroll.
