New York, New York: Nafis & Cornish, c. 1840. Early printing. Hardcover. Fair. This copy, in difficult condition, is offered as a scarce original edition. A stereotype edition. Words only, published without music. 32mo., 4 1/2" tall, 238 pages (256 pages--when complete); leather binding. This is a fair copy only, with the endpapers, title page, and last 18 pages missing. The leather back strip and cover leather torn, all edges chipped, and the front cover is loose, the paper is relatively white due to high rag content, but the page margins are finger stained, some scattered foxing, and the binding shaken. Includes the Star Spangled Banner, Boys of Ohio, Hurrah for the Bonnets of Blue, The Girl I Left Behind Me, Auld Lang Syne, Home Sweet Home and many others of note. The publisher was determined by comparison of contents to complete editions. This copy would require restoration.

A very good minus first edition over all, clean, binding solid, but fraying started at the fore-corner tipss and top and bottom of the backstrip, and a slight bump to the fore-edge of the covers; binding solid, paper moderately yellowed.

A fair copy only, front cover and back strip missing; internally very good minus, binding is solid, paper light to moderately yellowed, generally clean, and marked by some scattered foxing, but penciled numbers on blank memoranda pages and fore-edges darkened. Includes 10 pages of ads on color stock and 52 pages of advertisements on white stock plus a short business index, and a listing of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut Volunteers (these are the regiments who went to war). This copy would require restoration and is priced accordingly.

A very good minus, clean, neat original large format softcover catalog overall with moderate shelf wear, minor cover creasing but significant chipping to the back strip along spine; internal binding solid, some pages dog-eared at the corners; paper generally clean with some foxing to the fore-edges and first page, and a damp stain to the bottom margin of the last page and back cover.
