I love the incongruous backgrounds and the fact that the clothes are the character's but it is the actor posing for the shot- sometimes not posing, sometimes asleep, bored, pi**ed off, messing around... It was originally published in book form, in 1969, by BBC Books and John Murray.

Elia Kazan made a movie of "The Last Tycoon", in 1976, which starred Robert De Niro, Tony Curtis, Robert Mitchum, Jeanne Moreau, and Jack Nicholson. The screenplay was by Harold Pinter.
