An uncommon book in which the author presents in two sections the diaries of his hunting trips in Africa. The first excursion, in 1911, was to the Guaso Nyero region of British East Africa, the second, in 1913, to northwestern Rhodesia. The author was then Assistant Professor of Political Science at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Her study is based on extensive travels in sub Saharan Africa & hundreds of interviews with tribal leaders & private individuals. Interestingly, a rubber-stamped statement on the rear wrap identifies the Information Service of South Africa as a registered foreign agent & that said registration does not "indicate approval of this material by the United States Government."
