[Havana, Cuba]: Nuevo Fabrica de Hielo, SA, no date (ca 1925). First edition. Octavo (8.25" x 5"), 32 pages, illustrations from photographs throughout.Original pictorial, stapled, light card covers.
Soiled, foxed, couple small holes in the upper cover, moderate edge wear (including short tears & creasing), staples replaced, Good or so. Provides concise historical sketches of old Havana with accompanying illustrations. Additionally, of course, the pamphlet touts the company's beers which are "insuperable exquisite world-over known products, are our national pride, made 100% with the finest malts and best hops."
Quite uncommon, this version not found in OCLC although two copies with a variant publisher (described as the third edition) are located, one at the University of Illinois & another at the University of the West Indies as of 5/28/2023.

Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1977. First edition, this copy inscribed & initialed by Galbraith in the year of publication. Tall 8vo, 365 pp., illustrated. Publisher's gilt-lettered blue cloth in pictorial dust jacket.
Slight foxing at the edges of the text block, otherwise Fine in rubbed dust jacket with moderate edge wear including nicks & small losses, Good or better. Professor Galbraith's ambitous & exhaustive history of economics "from Adam Smith and Herbert Spencer, through Marx and Lenin, to Keynes ..." which was the basis for the BBC documentary series. This copy is inscribed almost certainly to Andrea Hill Williams who for 47 years was Galbraith's book editor and personal assistant: "For Andrea with love/ and thanks for making/ it publishable as well/ as good/ once more/ J.K.G. - 1977."

London: Burroughs Wellcome, 1912. Sextodecimo (6.75" x 4"), 262 & [2] pages followed by several unused leaves for memoranda & 12 unnumbered pages, illustrated throughout (some in color), & two maps of Atlantic City. Original red cloth lettered in gilt on the upper cover & decorated with the Burroughs Wellcome Unicorn trade mark. All edges gilt, decorated endpapers.
Covers spotted, soiled & rubbed, spine a bit sunned, sporadic modest foxing, otherwise good or better.
Contents include: Anglo-Saxon leechcraft; The Wellcome Materia Medica Farm; Historical Medical Equipment; Equipment List and Formulary of Burroughs Wellcome Products.

[Leesburg, Virginia]: National Historical Society/ Weider History Group, (2008). Facsimile reprint edition, originally published in 1905. 11 volumes only of 12 (lacking volume 12). Octavos (9" x 6"), variously paginated, with illustrations, facsimiles (some folding), & portraits. Publisher's one-half brown faux leather simulating crushed morocco & green cloth, the spines lettered & ruled in gilt, each volume with the facsimile signature of Abraham Lincoln in gilt on the upper cover. Top edges of the text blocks a little dusty, volume xi with small, unobtrusive white streak at the bottom of the spine, otherwise Fine. Please note, this set is lacking volume xii which includes an anthology & part of the index. An important set in an attractive binding, now out of print, which was available serially from the publisher in 2008 for $24.95 per volume. Shipping weight is 21 lbs.

Paris: Didot, Nion Fils, Damonneville, Savoye, 1749. "Nouvelle edition." Sextodecimo (6.5" x 4.25"), [8], 543, & [1] pages. Contemporary full mottled calf, the spine in six compartments with a gilt-lettered maroon leather spine label in one compartment, the others elaborately decorated in gilt. All edges red, marbled endpapers, text in French.
Binding rubbed & scuffed, corners worn, previous owner's notes, underlining, & bracketing in pencil throughout, small bookseller label at front pastedown, otherwise Good or better.
A nice example of French mid 18th century binding & printing, particularly interesting are the lovely endpapers & headpieces at each chapter.

Twenty-six volumes, I through XXVI (of 28), octavos (8.75" x 6.25"), variously paginated, each volume illustrated with plates from paintings, engravings, etchings, drawings, photos, maps, etc., including frontispieces, with tissue-guards. Publisher's three-quarter crushed dark blue morocco & marbled paper over boards by Haddon & Company (signed), the spines in six compartments separated by raised bands, lettered or decorated in gilt in all compartments. Top edges gilt, the others uncut.
Occasional very minor rubbing mostly affecting raised bands, one volume with slight wear at the top of the spine, a bit of toning to marbled paper, hinge started in volume one (still secure), otherwise near fine.
