Bindings very slightly soiled, shallow loss & fraying at the top of the spine on volume six, spine labels a bit toned & foxed, couple of hinges starting to crack (still secure), a good or better set.
A nice set of Burns who is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland, enhanced by numerous illustrations & printed music.

Oblong octavo (7.25" x 8.5"), 12 unnumbered pages, with illustrations throughout from photographs often featuring "les Jolies Filles d'Eve" who generally pose sans attire. Publisher's pictorial stapled paper wraps, with whimisical cover illustration by Auguste Liquois.
Slight edge wear, lightly foxed, small loss in the lower margin of leaf 9/10 (not affecting text or illustration), Illegible signature in ink dated June 3. 1938 at the lower wrap, otherwise very good.
A well-illustrated program for the show at this delightful Cabaret which featured "25 Tableaux musiques et mis en scene" by Willy Leardy. The numbers were performed by Rose Mania, Barbara Waren, Mado Desly, Maria Gregor, & others who were supported by chorus line of gorgeous young women generally attired only in feathers.

A voluminous account of this auspicious group providing minutes, membership rolls, summaries of educational presentations, and often descriptions of performances & events. In addition to Ms. Shuler, contributors include: Elise Watson, Arnette Culler, Margaret G. Yongue, Mrs. Otto Warren, Jr., & Ellen Putnam.
"March, 1953.The meeting was then turned over to Mrs. J.C. Godowns, chairman of the folk dance festival. She introduced Mrs. T.F. Reid who gave an interesting study of folk music. Mrs W.O. No place [Havana ?]: Revista Musical Cubana, 1952. Broadside Handbill, octavo (8.75" x 5.5"), 1 pp., with separate publicity photo of Santos (5.25" 3.5"), rubber-stamoed on the verso apparently relative to his later tour of Venezuala.
Broadside with small losses at the corners affecting one letter, old folds, toned, otherwise good or better. Photo corner creased, some loss of emulsion in the margins of the upper corners, rubber-stamping a bit obscure, still good.
Daniel Santos, Peurto Rican singer & composer, lived & performed in Havana from 1946 until 1952. Active in the Puerto Rican Independence Movement, he also was a supporter of Fidel Castro but came to believe the Cuban Revolution was not nationalistic.

Old folds, edge wear including nicks & short tears, signature faded, otherwise Good.
Although from Brooklyn, Mrs. Hudson apparently spent summers with her father in Ludlow. She also gave generously to the Woman's Christian Temperance Union.

Small losses at the spine, wraps soiled, modest edge wear, previous owner's signature in ink at the left side of the front cover (possibly A.H. Douglas who sold musical instruments in New Jersey), occasional foxing, last leaf with 1.25 inch tear at the top edge affecting text but without loss, a Good or better copy.
Septimus Winner (1827 – 1905) was an American composer, teacher, performer, & music publisher. He wrote over 200 songs including "Listen to the Mocking Bird" & "Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone." Winner also wrote some 200 instruction method books for over twenty-three instruments.
The front cover features a stunning graphic depicting musical instruments. Quite uncommon, OCLC finds 9 copies only as of 10/8/2023 (accession number 14059335).
