The tales were meant to help allay fears that the Burmese way of life would be destroyed under the empire. The text also includes a section on Buddhism in Burma at the time of takeover. Binding is tight. Brown cloth boards with green and gold stamping show minimal wear. Number stamp on FFEP. The first 36 pages of the text have underling, the remainder of the text appears clean and unmarked. Dust jacket is rubbed and lightly soiled with a few small tears.
