Description:
Published 1892. Oversize book, cover as shown with this listing is rubbed, chipped and scuffed. Gilt edges, head and tail bands, silk moiré endpapers and reinforced binding. Includes a portrait of Gerome, nineteen full page photogravures and twenty-five full-page photo-process reproductions of his paintings and sculpture, together with fifty pencil drawings made especially for the book by Gerome. The guard to the author portrait is creased, tanned and chipped. There appears to be some slight water damage to pages at the back of the book, from page 255 on. Despite these obvious flaws this is a special book and our price reflects condition. Your purchase helps our small public library. pi(TOP OF F)
