Description:
1959 ten volume hardcover set as pictured. This is an impressive collection from the publishers of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, a collection of writings from a broad range of disciplines meant to provide the reader with a solid grounding for further study in what has been called a liberal education, liberal referring to a basic knowledge of the classic western canon rather than a political bent. Topics covered include religion, philosophy, science, medicine, mathematics, law and literature. Though somewhat soiled the books are well made and in good shape considering their age. Bindings are all firm. Tan cloth boards with brown stamping are soiled with permanent marker writing on the spines but show little other wear. Texts are lightly tanned but appear unmarked. No dust jackets. Price includes extra shipping cost due to weight. Your purchase helps support our small village library. sAR bottom shelf.
