1957 hardcover as pictured. This is a collection of letters and articles that Twain wrote for the Virginia City Enterprise during the boom years of the Comstock Lode. Previously assumed to be lost, these pieces were discovered in 1954 in a Mount Vernon, NY warehouse. This copy has a note written on the FFEP by Paul Appel who claims to be the one who found the documents. Binding is firm. Pictorial cloth boards are lightly tanned with little edge wear and gently bumped corners. Writing on FFEP as noted above. Text appears clean and unmarked.
