Many entries are accompanied by a tissue guarded portrait. Binding is firm. Black cloth and brown leather boards with gold stamping are rubbed and scuffed with significant wear at edges and corners. It is the true story of a French aristocrat who came to the United States to escape the excesses of the French revolution, settling in upstate central New York.
