Description:
6 color plates and 37 black and white plates of the paintings of Clara Williamson, folk art painter of the Texas frontier. This book was published on the event of an exhibition, by the same name, at the Amon Carter Museum of Western Art in Ft. Worth. Ms. Williamson was 91 at the time of the book's writing and made herself available for the preparation of the book. She did not become an artist until her late 60's. The book is in near fine condition. The dust jacket has a tear down the front cover where there was a printing fault. It appears to be price clipped, but the price is still there next to where it was clipped. I don't know what that's all about. Nevertheless, the book is straight, binding tight, pages clean and unmarked.

In English and Espanol. A loving tribute to one of the great city parks in the world in Mexico City. In the late 1500's a Spanish scholar noted that the locals viewed the forest around what became Chapultepec Castle as a "sacred entity". and they would regularly prune and clean the forest. The castle was built on the hill in 1785. This book is the definitive work on this incredible space. Beautiful photography. A very large, heavy book.
