Photo history of Allen County, Indiana and Ft. Wayne put out by the local newspaper, The News Sentinel. Black and white photographs on every page. Really good photographs and fun too. Oblong book, First Edition, so stated. The book is in fine, like new condition.

First Edition. Very Good / Good. Founded in 1908 at Howard University, AKA was the first African American sorority. The late Dr. Parker was the author of 2 previous books about the history of AKA. The book has scratches on the spine, and there is some underlining and parenthesis in the text. The previous owner (an AKA member) is written on the front free end page. The dust jacket has scratches and paper loss on the spine and half inch tears on the top and bottom of the spine. There is a half inch tear at the front flap, as well as shelf and edge wear. Included is the booklet: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.: Alpha Xi Omega Chapter (Dallas area), 2000 Pictorial Directory; a 96 page softcover book.

The first Spanish explorers erected a cross at Helena Crossing on the Mississippi River in 1541. St. Mary's Catholic Church published this book to celebrate it's 75th anniversary. Laid in is an 8 page brochure about the church and its stained glass windows. The book is in near fine condition with only very light shelf wear.

Curry County, New Mexico is in the east central part of the state. Clovis is the largest town. It was arid, high plains country until they learned to tap the underground aquifer. The town wasn't really organized until the early 20th century. This book is about the families, churches, businesses and civic organizations of the area. The book is in near fine, almost unread condition with the only issues being light toning around the edges. Handsome binding with the large gilt seal in mint condition.

DeRidder, Louisiana is in Beauregard Parish, north of Lake Charles, near the Texas border. It was formed when the railroad from Kansas City to Port Arthur went through in 1896. The book is in fine, like new condition, which is pretty amazing for a big, white paperback book. There is no copyright page, just a letter from the mayor. On page ii, there are facsimile signatures of 20 DeRidder residents who produced this centennial book. I couldn't find another copy for sale.

Beatriz Nunez was convicted by the Spanish Inquisition in 1485 for being an unrepentant heretic. Even though she had converted to Christianity, her maid had testified that she kept a kosher kitchen and made a Sabbith stew. She was burned alive. Her Sabbith stew is one of 90 recipes that the author has found from the Iberian Peninsula and colonies during the Spanish Inquisition. The book is in very good condition. There is a remainder mark and a gift inscription, being the only issues.

Contemporary color photographs of the Finger Lakes region in western New York. The book is in fine condition with only the slightest shelf wear. It is signed by John Francis McCarthy on the title page.

Book is in near fine condition; the only flaw is a slight bump on the front bottom right corner. Interior is flawless. Arthor signed and dated on the black flyleaf in silver ink. The book is in near fine condition. The dust jacket has some separation on the paper cover on both front and back, this appears to be a printing defect. Otherwise, there is only minimal shelf wear. Corners are crisp and the pages are clean. Author's signature on the title page appears to be a facsimile. First printing (stated).

Morath's photographs of country life in Connecticut. Arthur Miller documents their life. Black and white photos of all aspects of their life together with their friends and neighbors. Most of the subjects are not named, but there is a 2 page photo of Alexander Caulder working on a sculpture, in a field, with cattle in the background. The book is in very good+ condition with one corner slightly bumped. Pages are clean and unmarked. The jacket has small tears on the top of the spine. Other than that, shelf wear is minimal. Both authors signed on a tipped in bookplate on the half title page. The bookplate reads 'Horchow Special Edition". Morath and Miller are married. She has had many one woman shows and has works in major museums. Arthur Miller is a world-famous playwright,

Signed. First edition. Wyoming Sheriff France captured 2 mountain men who had kidnapped a female skier and killed a deputy. The book is in near fine condition; slightly dusty, but nearly unread. The dust jacket has minor wrinkles at the spine ends and the back jacket flap is creased and is very good+. Sheriff France has inscribed, dated and signed on the front free end page.

History of a small coastal area in New South Wales, Australia; between Sidney and Brisbane. Drawings, sketches and archival photographs document the history of this area since the 1800's. Book is in very good+ condition. Very light shelf wear. Pages are clean and the corners are straight. There are some genealogical notes on page 19. There is a gift inscription, apparently to a relative, on the title page, followed by the signature of Gill and his wife. There is a separate signature on the title page with a date. Laid in is a page with some genealogical information on the Gill family. Scarce.

Historical chronicle of the 1802 Lewis and Clark expedition to follow the Mississippi River to the Pacific. The author has written over 30 popular books on American history, some of which have been made into movies and documentaries. The book is in near fine condition with navy blue leather cover (no jacket), and silver titles and page ends. Many color photographs by respected photographer Sam Abell. The author doesn't sign much, so a signed book is rare.

Ligonier, Indiana is in the northern part of the state, near Ft. Wayne. In the early days a large percentage of the population were Jewish. Before that there were Mound Builders and then Pottawatomie and Miami indigenous tribes who had been granted land by the government. The book is in near fine condition with only a non personalized gift inscription from 'Grandma' on the front free end page. There is no dust jacket, but I believe it was issued that way. I have not seen another copy on the internet, so I don't really know.

Fine, unread copy. The copyright page says first edition, 1945. I don't know what to make of this book. My guess is that it is a reprint because it's just so clean and crisp, but who knows. It's a great book. No dust jacket.

Thoroughly researched book with hundred of archival photographs, covers the pre history of the area up to this book's publication. A very interesting, little understood, part of America. The book is in fine, like new, unread condition.

In World War II the Nazi regime murdered Roma and Sinti civilians. Persecution of Jews has been more publicized, but it was the same for these groups. It was an attempt at genocide. This well researched book documents that persecution. This is part of the permanent exhibition of the State Museum of Auschwitz. The book is in fine condition.
