First edition, 1922. The spine is frayed at the head and the tail. The binding is a little loose, but very much intact. There is toning and a stain on the leading edge and there is shelf wear all around. The pages are clean and unmarked and all the plates and archival photos are bright and in good order. Signed by Abbott Sparks of the U.S. Naval Institute. Written by a top Japanese military historian. Translated by Don Gorham, an industrial and governmental translator and a former Naval intelligence officer. Book and jacket are in fine condition.

Memoirs of an Army officer involved with a secret mission inside China, during WW II, to find missing downed pilots. His story is told after certain top secret records were declassified in 1994. Interesting to note that Lt. Col. Wichtrich was born in Mexico and was a naturalized U.S. citizen. Book and dust jacket are in fine, like new condition.

3 volumes. Volumes 1 and 2 are from the Wolseley Series, printed by Gilbert & Rivington in London (no date). The atlas was published by the U. S. Army Dept. of Art and Engineering at West Point, in 1942, to accompany the first 2 volumes. I acquired these volumes from Major General Harold Parfitt just before he died. I told him I would take care of his stuff and tell whoever I passed it on to where I got it. The book doesn't have his name in it. He was in the Army Corps of Engineers and was the last Governor of Panama.
The books are in very good condition; some shelf wear, corner bumping and sunning on the spine, but the pages are clean and unmarked and the binding is solid.
