Description:
Poetry by the author written from 1968-1974. He states that his poetry is in the western tradition, but its essence is Pan-African. He studied at Liberty University and the University of Pennsylvania. He has been a writer and lecturer at Wesleyan and at Yale. He was the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship in Afro- American studies. The last few poems have the character 'Shine'. The author says that this is from an old story in the African American community that Shine was the only Negro aboard the Titanic. Very 60's. Great poetry. Cover and jacket are in very good condition with only slight shelf wear at the corners. Pages are clean and unmarked. Laid in is an errata card.

Description:
Poetry by Owen McDermott. Mr McDermott was the father of one of Dallas' most important businessmen and philanthropists. Eugene McDermott founded Texas Instruments and St Marks Prep School and started the University of Texas at Dallas. There is a few specks of white discoloration on the front and back cover. The pages are very lightly and evenly toned. The corners are square and the pages are clean and unmarked. Listed as very good. Scarce.
