The author, who is the current senior curator, has inscribed the book to John Lunsford, who was senior curator at the museum when he retired in 1986, after 28 years. The inscription credits him for largely creating the collection. Laid in is a note card thanking Lunsford for creating the collection. The card is signed 'Bonnie', who is Bonnie Pittman, the Eugene McDermott director at the museum. The current senior curator, and author, has dated, inscribed and signed to the previous curator. The book was aquired from the estate of John Lunsford. Lunsford was a remarkable man. RIP.

His archive was acquired by the Museum of Modern art in 1968. Book is in fine condition, no issues. The dust jacket has a small dent on the front near the spine and very slight shelf wear, listed as near fine. The author was the director of the Museum for 29 years, until 1991. Austrian born Marlinda von Ruhs-Jaibert is a noted painter. She was 90 when this book was published. These are her sketches, some of which go back to the 1960's. She said her sketches are her diary. There are 192 full page sketches. It appears that she published the book herself with an edition of 750 copies. Text in Spanish. The book is in near fine condition with just very minor shelf wear. The author / artist has inscribed, dated and signed on the front free end page.

Signed. 2 softcover volumes in hard slipcase. Body of Clay is the story of Richard Bresnahan and creating the pottery at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. After apprenticing in Japan, Bresnahan returned to his old school and created a world renowned kiln and pottery studio. Coupled with this book is 'Stoked: Five Artists of Fire and Clay" published by Saint John's University Press in 2010 (ISBN 9780974099262). Both books have lots of beautiful color photography of pottery and ceramic sculpture. The author, Matthew Welch, is the curator of Japanese and Korean art at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The softcover books are in fine condition and encased in a fine, hard, cloth covered slip case. Bresnahan has signed and inscribed each book with a long personal statement to a patron (each inscription is different). [ I also have some Bresnahan pottery available ]

Art photography. Cole Weston is the son of the famous photographer Edward Weston. Art photography of a wide range of subjects. The book contains 50 full page color plates, plus 2 b&w pics of his first photos when he was a teenager. Lots of words about his inspiration and process. The pages aren't numbered. The book is in fine, like new condition. The dust jacket is price clipped, has a one inch closed tear on the top back and shows some shelf wear and is listed as very good. The author has signed, under the facsimile signature on the title page (no inscription).

First Edition. Very Good+ softcover exhibition catalogue. Laid in is a 5x7 card with reproduced art signed by Pudlo Pudlat. Card is 2 sided, with pictures on both sides. One side is titled and signed by the artist, the opposite side is titled only. The late Pudlo Pudlat was an indigenous artist from Baffin Island and his work is represented in most of the museums in Canada. 13 color and 121 b&w photographs of objects from the exhibition. Book has a creased front cover and slight corner bumping. It has been gently read (won't stay open) and the pages are clean and unmarked.

"The Mad Potter of Biloxi". George Ohr fulfilled the ideal of the Arts and Crafts Movement by doing all his own work. His work is now in the Ohr - O'Keefe Museum in Biloxi, Mississippi. The book contains over 300 previously unpublished works by Ohr. The book is in near fine condition with only a very slight bump on the lower spine and slight shelf wear. Robert Ellison, Jr, who died last year, is from the Dallas/Ft Worth area. After the Korean War he went to college and began a career as an abstract artist. He accidentally became a collector of art pottery. His collection is now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He inscribed the book to Dallas friends and signed "Bob". I am marking this book as signed, but I am not pricing the book as such. A beautiful book and the definitive work on the subject.

A compilation of Loates work between 1977 and 1983. He is a disciplined wildlife artist. The book has sketches and pictures on every page and there are 112 plates.
