Description:
Signed. First edition. Catalogue of an exhibition about the Catholic Missions of New Spain, which, in this case was everything north and west of Mexico City. This exhibition and book are the definitive work on this subject. This book is from the estate of David Weber, who was an authority on this subject and who is the author of the first chapter. Among other venues for this exhibition was the San Antonio Museum of Art. Laid in is an invitation to the exhibit as well as a photograph of both principal authors, David Weber and others. In addition, there is a draft (with corrections) of a speech by the late David Weber, who was the honoree at a banquet opening the exhibit in San Antonio. The book is in fine, like new condition. The dust jacket has a slight bump on the bottom spine, thus near fine. The book is inscribed "With gratitude & appreciation for our friend and colleague" and with 5 signatures; both authors, the director of the San Antonio Museum and 2 others.
