""Miss Kate E. [Harris/Hanes?] With sincere & somewhat antique affection. April 21st 1920. E.C. Benedict."" Address delivered at midnight, December 31, 1917. Account of the origins of the club, anecdotes of ""Mr. Booth."" Benedict was 84 at the time. 16 pages. Tipped in at the back is the text of a 1918 letter to ECB from Robert Todd Lincoln and another pencil note, ""Feby 1918 ECB."" Edgewear, small bumps and tears along spine. Covers spotted. Scarce copy with a scarce signature.

From the collection of a veteran of the 45th General Hospital during World War II; his family lived in Forest Hills at the time of the war. Unusual piece of World War II ephemera.

Printed card darkened with age, one end bumped/creased. Memorabilia from World War II-era New York just a few weeks after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

East Hampton, 1898. No binding. Very Good. Subscription receipt for a Mr. Rushton Foster for one year of the local newspaper East Hampton Star, published by E. S. Boughton. Dated October 31, 1898, covering a one year�s subscription to the local weekly paper from the south fork at the east end of Long Island. The paper was published from 1885-1900, and Boughton took over as publisher in 1890. Rushton Foster, 1867-1935, was from a local family that had settled the area in the 1600s. Interesting tidbit of local/familial history. No major flaws, a few soft creases where folded.

The Drake Theatre opened in December 1935 on Woodhaven Blvd. in Rego Park, Queens, New York. This card was part of a promotional event at the theatre shortly after it opened. Some minor wear and small tears along top and bottom edges. Unusual piece of Great Depression-era movie theater memorabilia.

Jamestown Festival 1957, 1957. Fine.. Souvenir of the Jamestown Festival, 1957. Cover is Queen Elizabeth I with Sir Henry Lee, Sir Francis Drake and Sir Martin Frobisher. Stapled and folded packet intended as a souvenir to be mailed. 16 pages, pen and ink illustrations and text featuring scenes, events and personalities in the early history of the New World, including John Cabot, John Smith, and Sir Walter Raleigh. Only very minor creases at staples, no markings, never mailed.

E. T. Cunningham Inc., 1932. Stapled paper wraps. Fair-Good. 36 page advertising pamphlet from the 1930s. Lists all U.S. broadcasting call letters, and there are several pages at the back for listing your favorite radio shows. Each page profiles a popular radio personality, including Jack Benny, Eddie Cantor, Bing Crosby, Guy Lombardo, Rudy Vallee, Paul Whiteman, and others. Pencil marks and lines in the centerfold map of the U.S. Pages tanned, some pages are well marked with crayon, there are small losses and tears, corner creases. The spine has been reinforced with transparent tape. 15� original cover price. Even with the flaws, this is a nice piece for a collector/aficionado of radio memorabilia/history.

[no date, c.1940s]. No binding. Fair-Good. Typed single-page letter on printed personal letterhead, signed in ink. Fadiman references a recent telephone call and is offering support for a Private Grace who had been AWOL; according to Fadiman, the soldier had been very ill and had sent a letter that was never mailed. Fadiman attests to the serviceman's honesty and integrity and hopes it will be taken into consideration in any military discipline Private Grace might face. The letter itself is Fair-Good, folded with multiple creases, tears, and wear to the edges. Interesting and unusual piece of World War II ephemera associated with a prominent personality of the day. Fadiman, 1904-1999, was a mid-20th century writer & editor, as well as a television and radio celebrity.
