The Hague: Pierre Gosse, 1758. First Edition. Hardcover (Full Leather). Very Good Condition. Contemporary full calf, neatly rebacked at an early date, endpapers refreshed, title slightly adhered to the new endpapers in the gutter, some surface marks and edgewear to leather, corners a little bumped, modest wear to raised bands - quite sound and attractive overall. Small dampstain to bottom edge of title and first few pages, scattered minor stains and foxing, very clean and birght overall - a nice large copy of the first and only folio edition of The Comte de Saxe's popular and influential military treatise. First published in octavo in 1756 and quarto in 1757 - complete and bound with the supplement. 228 pp., 18 Plates, 3 Plates, 40 Plates, 15 pp. (61 plates in total, many folding) Size: Folio.
