Rare copy of this edition with pictorial dust jacket. Zane Grey's first novel. Based on a true story. Betty Zane was one of the great heroines of the American Revolution. A pioneer who moved west at the end of the 18th century. There the Zanes and others carved out the little settlement of Fort Henry, a last outpost on the American Frontier. When Indians threatened to attack Fort Henry, the lives of every man, woman, and child were at stake.
