Description:
The classic time slip story as told by the witnesses themselves. The famous tale of a visit by two English women to the gardens of Versailles in 1901, originally told in print in 1911 and then built upon in later editions. Added material makes the versions unique, as is the case with this one, where Dame Joan Evans adds a lengthy preface and edits the book. Evans owned the book's copyright and accepted a non supernatural solution. After this edition she forbade any more, until the copyright ran out.A good copy and better than many of this edition. Pages are very clean and tidy with no marks or creases and the fold out maps are intact and clean. There is the legacy of tape or similar on the end pages. Boards are tight and clean. DJ is unclipped: wear is apparent especially at the rear top, top spine, and general extremities. A few small missing spots but generally good. All now covered in professional removable clear book cover. 131pp. With index and fold out maps
