The classic time slip story as told by the witnesses themselves. The famous tale of a visit by two English women to the gardens of Versailles in 1901, originally told in print in 1911 and then built upon in later editions. Added material makes the versions unique, as is the case with this one, where Dame Joan Evans adds a lengthy preface and edits the book. Evans owned the book's copyright and accepted a non supernatural solution. After this edition she forbade any more, until the copyright ran out.

Author, psychical researcher and journalist Dennis Bardens turns his attention to the mystery of precognition. In this elegantly written collection of lapses in time and space, Bardens covers some well and lesser known cases in the genre. Among his areas of focus he looks at pre-vision and romance, foreknowledge and gambling, and the strange links between aviation and seeing into the future. An excellent read.

Psychologist and parapsychologist Dr LeShan, writer of the bestseller How To Meditate (1974), here questions the very reality in which we choose to live. He calls this book a 'work in progress' and welcomes debate around his theories. His view that we can choose to move 'from reality to reality' is certainly thought provoking.

Finucane's excellent survey of the reports of ghosts over the years. He looks at why the apparent appearance of ghosts seems to have changed over time, and how their manifestations have been interpreted. A very nice copy. Pages are clean and bright. Former RAF cartographer Jim Allen has made what he regards as an incredible discovery, and potentially solved the age old mystery of Atlantis. He has located a site in what is now in modern Bolivia, on the Altiplano, where he contends he has found the remains of the canal system described by Plato in his writing on the destruction of Atlantis. Additionally, he contends that Plato's description of an island city on a plain encircled by mountains, fits the Altiplano perfectly. A fascinating piece of research.

A very nice copy (Near Fine / G +) of the vanishingly rare true first edition (1954) of H C Randall-Stevens' most well known work, complete with unclipped dust jacket and with the rare foldout present and complete. Randall-Stevens was a British singer and war veteran, who went on to found an esoteric order known as The Knights Templar of Aquarius. In the 1920s he claimed that he began receiving psychic voices. This is perhaps his most popular book, focusing on Egypt as a colony of Atlantis, and the notion that the initiation temples sacred to Osiris were hidden under the Sphinx. A classic occult work! This first edition is very rare, especially in this condition and with the DJ. Pages have no markings or inscriptions at all and remain clean and bright. The invention and development of photography transformed the potential for capturing and evaluating information about the supposed spirit world. However the new medium was open to trickery and it was left to a dedicated band of photographers who attempted to work under controlled conditions. Permutt analyses their work using many pictures from his own collection. Many classic cases are interestingly presented here, including: Borley rectory; the Fox sisters; Ted Serios and Thoughtography, and many others. This is far from a sceptical enquiry, but nevertheless it's an interesting and sincere one.

Ryall chronicles the previous life he says he lived, in the English countryside in the 17th century as farmer John Fletcher. Psychiatrist Ian Stevenson interviews him, and trusts his story. After the book was published a researcher could find no John Fletcher in records for the relevant area, and Stevenson himself later asserted that potentially Ryall had made at least some of the information up. Stevenson carried on investigating reincarnation and was much critiqued for some of his findings. Book includes a cutting of a Daily Mail article of 1978 about reincarnation.
