Sheffield, England: J.W. Northend Ltd., 1968. First reprint of the 1912 original. Quarto. 11.75 x 9.25 inches. Hardcover. Near Fine / Very Good. Original dark blue cloth on board, gilt debossed lettering and decoration to spine, gilt debossed paneling and coat of arms to front board. Original sand-colored, unclipped 10-guinea printed dustjacket. Illustrated throughout with b/w photographs and engravings. Frontis, xiii, 539 pp. Index. Bright, tight and clean. No internal markings. Very slight bumps to leading corners of both boards, else Fine. Dust jacket shows light chipping at foot of spine and tips, creasing along edges, and scattered staining to front face. Price sticker affixed over 10-guinea price. Sticker ghost near tail of spine. Now in removable protective archival cover.
