This lot is a 1938 Original Hardback Wisden in Good Condition, This book has restored spine and front gilt and touch ups to the spine cloth, the boards are touch worn but in decent order, internally very nice with clean pages and strong hinges. Hi, This lot is a 1938 Original linen cloth Wisden. This Wisden is in OK condition, 38s are rarly great. The main issue here is the large spine bowing. The covers are in decent shape, a couple of marks to the rear cover, no bat bookmark, just the string. Nice clean pages inside, some light thumbing. Condition (Out of 10) = 6

Hi, This lot is a 1938 Original linen cloth Wisden. This Wisden is in good+ condition, 38s are rarly great. The covers are in decent shape, a touch dark more to the rear than the front, a small spine bowing and no bat bookmark, just the string. Nice clean pages inside, some very light thumbing to the top , annotation to page iii but a decent 1938. Condition (Out of 10) = 7

Hi, This lot is an 1938 Wisden Linen Wisden. This Original Linen is in OK+ condition, the covers are worn and some overwriting to the letters, darkness to the page block and some wear to the edges of the first couple of pages. Tightly bound hardly any foxing otherwise it is a presentable book. No bookmark. Condition (Out of 10) = 6

Hi, This lot is a 1938 Original linen cloth Wisden. This Wisden is in Very Good condition, 38s are rarly great but this is a lot better than the average 1938. The covers are in good order, slight darkness, with 1 mark to the rear (small) , the spine has a small bow but internally very nice indeed with nearly a full bat bookmark. A very nice 1938 for this very tricky (condition) year. Condition (Out of 10) = 8

Hi, This lot is a 1938 Original Linen Cloth Wisden. The linen covers are tight but a bit worn, as is the spine cloth, there is some dusty markings to the rear of the book which has a read feel, nice spine with little bowing, includes bat bookmark without handle. Condition (Out of 10) = 7

This lot is an 1938 Original Hardback Wisden. In Poor Condition. 38s are never great but this has seen better days. The gilt and hinges are restored and the spine cloth is very worn to the edges, Cheap and cheerful. Condition (Out of 10) = 5

Hi, This lot is an 1938 Original Hardback Wisden, This book is in Very Good condition, the boards although a little bit dulled are pretty mark free with bright shiny gilt. The hinges are both strong and the pages inside are very clean , some spotting at the rear , comapred to other 1938s this is right up there as a tip top book. PS After composing my condition notes I stick with what I have said but looking at the spine picture I took after listing this close up there is a possibility the spine gilt has been touched up , it may be original and you would never know I just have a small doubt hence letting you know, a great book never the less. This is an 1938 Wisden, Rebound with the covers bound in. Bound in brown with gilt to the spine but in poor condition. The book has rubbed and worn covers and very read feel to it, reference only really, handle missing from bat bookmark. Condition (Out of 10) = 5

Hi, This lot is an Original 1938 Hardback Wisden that has has the gilt restored. It is in OK condition at best. This year does turn out like this quite a lot being the first of the new style hardbacks. It is complete and nice inside but it does have new gilt on the worn boards, the boards have the odd mark, internally the book is nice and clean with good hinges for the year. Hi, This lot is the rare 1938 Original Hardback. The FIRST year of the new style hardback. This book is in very nice condition, which is amazing for a 1938 as they usually come pretty ropey. This book has strong gilt to the front and spine (spine is usually faded) , the hinges are both strong and the pages inside are nice and clean, one of the better 1938s , the only defect is a small name to the first right hand page and some lightening to the cloth at the base of the spine. It is in good to very good condition The covers are a bit grubby around the edges, with some marks (including a cup) to the rear cover. Very nice inside. The bat book mark is complete but detached. Hi, This lot is an Original 1938 Hardback Wisden that I am selling on behalf of a fellow Holmfirthian. It is in OK condition at best. This year does turn out like this quite a lot being the first of the new style hardbacks. It is complete and nice inside but it does have weak hinges some dog ears and feels well read. Externally the gilts have dulled , the boards are marked and worn and has been loved over its life. Complete and a nice price. Condition (Out of 10) = 5

The major issue is the bowing to the spine that has pulled the covers back , there is a weakness in the hinge due to the bowing and the book is rather tatty but complete and a decent price. It is in OK Condition, this book is very well read, it was one part of the Leicester Mercury research books and has that marked on the top of the front cover, large thumbing and heavy wear throughout. Hi, We recently listed a few runs of hardbacks, we split a few of the sets at customers requests and so relisting the rest of them individually and knocking 10 percent off the price to make them even more attractive. This lot is an 1939 Original Hardback Wisden. In Good Condition. 39s are never great and this is good and above avergae but there are nicer ones. This however is special as once owned by future editor Norman Preston and a Presentation copy from Wilfred Brookes. This book is good, it has had no restoration, the front board is a bit dark and the letters are dark too (so look faded) , the lettering is fading to the spine. Inside the hinges are strong but you can se the mesh to both front and rear hinges. Nice inside but small splash mark to page 31g. Condition (Out of 10) = 7
