The Omega Workshops were started in London in 1913 by the art critic Roger Fry, and their aim was to produce painted furniture, fabrics, rugs, pottery and other items in the spirit of the Post-Impressionists. Despite the combined talents of Vanessa Bell, Henri Gaudier-Brzeska, Mark Gertler, Dora Carrington, and others, they were not a commercial success and closed in 1919.
